Consultations with Dr. Tom

I do not have a clinical dental practice, nor do I see patients. However, I am available for a limited number of phone consultations per month regarding preventive dentistry, mercury amalgam fillings, chronic mercury poisoning, and mercury detoxification. (Due to the high volume of email requests for answers to oral health questions I am not able to respond to email requests. See General Questions for information about how to find answers to those questions relating to my area of expertise.)

To maximize the value of a consultation I suggest that you first read the book that relates to your particular issue. For example, if you have questions regarding the relationship of oral health to overall health, dental disease and preventive dentistry, I recommend that you read Healthy Teeth-Healthy Body: How to Improve Your Oral and Overall Health and the material on this website prior to scheduling a consulting appointment. Likewise, if your issue involves any aspect of mercury amalgam (silver) fillings I encourage you to read The Poison in Your Teeth: Mercury Amalgam (Silver) Fillings . . . Hazardous to Your Health! If your interest is mercury detoxification, it would be valuable to read, Mercury Detoxification: The Natural Way to Remove Mercury from Your Body, and the related information on the website prior to scheduling the consultation.

Doing so could reduce the cost of a consultation and you may very well find the answers to many of your questions in the books or on the website. I also recommend that you write down every question you have before the consultation appointment and be prepared to write down my answers. This will allow you to refer to the information at a later date.

I am also available for questions about all aspects of dental treatment. I’ve found that in 30 years of consulting with patients, most do not understand enough about why they need a specific dental treatment, or are unclear about their treatment options and would be more comfortable if they had another impartial opinion. Doing so allows you to make a much more educated decision about what will be done to you. I feel this is especially important if you are a candidate for gum (periodontal) surgery.

My consulting fee is $200 per hour and there is no minimum time fee. The total time a consultation will take is determined by the individual and will be billed by the minute. For those who only have a question or two this is ideal and longer appointments can be scheduled for those who have more extensive questions. To schedule an appointment please call 1-707-763-7220, or toll free at 1-800-335-7755.
